The brooch is centering upon a hexagonal-cut emerald, within an openwork two-tiered small CZ stones bordered by brilliant-cut stones, mounted in 925 Sterling Silver.

The centerpiece of the Catherine the Great Emerald and Diamond Brooch is a superbly cut hexagon-cut Colombian emerald that weighs between 60 and 70 carats. Mounted in silver-topped gold, the emerald is set with rows of rose-cut and old mine-cut diamonds. The jewel is impressive in terms of both size and quality. Catherine II of Russia, who came to the throne in 1762, was the original owner. Through the royal and noble treasures, the brooch was passed down. The brooch was purchased by an American in 1972.
